I've had another very busy week (or two!). I have finally been lucky and now am living in a new place! It's the corner townhouse in a new estate area close to work, with a corner shop at the end of the street and some lovely lakes and countryside nearby. The housemate is a nice guy called Lee, who is an art teacher at a local college. The landlord lives in Sweden and seems quite nice too. I really like my room which is decent sized and has an ensuite! I'm so glad I've found somewhere nice, as it was getting a bit stressful as I only had a short time before work started. I was almost forced to stay with 'Mrs Sharon Pickering'! (A funny lady I met who was open to short-lets).
Here are some photos:

Before I left Wimbledon I did a few more things in London, like a Jack the Ripper walking tour, which was very interesting. However I tried not to think too hard about it as I was walking home by myself from the train station later that evening! I also went to the official royal grocers (since the 18th century) - Fortnum & Masons which is lovely. I bought some beautiful sugared almonds and also some biscuits for the Booths. It's so amazingly decorated and fancy there and everything looks delicious! Very expensive, though.

Last week I also went down to Brighton for a work 'bonding' day. It was great to meet the rest of the team in a casual setting and it was such a lovely day. The team is really friendly and fun. Although I had been to Brighton before, it was raining heaps that day so it was a totally different atmosphere. This time it was the real British summer seaside, with lots of people on deck chairs on the 'beach' (with pebbles), fish and chips, seagulls, the pier and sideshow alley style games and rides. There's also lots of trendy shops up in the town which is cool.

Anyway, only four more days until I start work!
Love to all. Kim xo

ReplyDeleteHey Kimmy,
ReplyDeleteGreat news!! A beautiful place to live (with a friendly housemate :) ), a zippy little car, a team bonding day - all sounds like it's falling into place so well for you. Love seeing all the photos and hearing the stories.
Good luck with work starting.
Lots of love Trine xoxo
I love the picture of the beach chairs with the seagull! The room looks lovely Kimmy, light-filled with lovely windows which will be especially important in winter. And lakes close by - lovely! It will be nice to have a roomie too for company, and an art teacher, classy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Trine and Shaz! Hope you both (and your lovely families!) are well. Yeah, I'm quite glad I've sorted everything out nicely. I may or may not update again on the weekend, as we're having problems with the internet. But so far this week at work has been good! Love Kimmy xoxox
