Kimmy's Travels and other adventures : Carnivals and countryside (plus one palace)

Before starting work, I did a tour of the State Rooms of Buckingham Palace, which are only open for a short time during the summer. It was really amazing inside, with so much gold and opulent furnishings and grand staircases! I really enjoyed being able to see what we've seen on television.

Last weekend I went to the Notting Hill carnival with Esther and some of her friends. It is the largest street festival in Europe! It was so packed with people it was sometimes hard to move. There was lots of music and stalls and it had a Caribbean/Jamaican feel to it. Lots of interesting people around!

It's been nice exploring the Reigate/Redhill area more, especially the lakes and parks. It's still been reasonably warm (20-24 degrees sometimes) which is nice, as I'm sure it won't last long!
